Call for Art - The Gallery
For several years, BWVA Co Founders Daricia Mia DeMarr and Lauren Jackson Harris have worked with art fairs, art spaces, and Black women curators and gallerists to exhibit the work of artists at various levels and mediums. As Black women arts workers, we know first hand how it feels when we support one another in the art world. BWVA has always had a direct focus on professionals in the arts, but Black women artists have shared their talents with us through exhibition tours, panel discussion, and special projects. More recently, our focus has been on the artistic production and advancement of Black women-identifying artists.
Many of you have followed us for a long time and we haven't been able to provide a space, until now.
Starting March 1, 2026 for International Women’s Month, BWVA will launch a new program dedicated to Black women artists by offering a new online gallery within our platform. We have garnered an audience of art enthusiasts who are interested in not only learning more about art, but also collecting art!
We aim for this to be a biannual program where we select 10 artists and up to 25 works of art!
